The opening titles of scream is a black screen, with the word scream written in a white scraggly font, it turns red and a hollow scream is heard. The opening scene shows a young blonde woman answering a ringing phone. She appears to be home alone. She answers the phone to a rather friendly stranger who appears to be flirting with her, she tells him that he has got the wrong number and puts the phone down, not thinking anything else of it. As she walks away the phone rings again, she answers it 'Hi, im sorry i guess i've dialled the wrong number' says the stranger, the blonde woman anwers laughing 'so why have you dialled it again' . The stranger on the phone starts to flirt again then the blonde woman tells him that they have '900 numbers' for him to dial and find someone to talk to. The next shot shows a high angled shot of a gloomy looking tree outside, the shot pans down, the viewers then a long shot of a house. The next shot shows a close up of a gas hob of a cooker, it then shows the blonde woman putting some popcorn on the hob as she goes to answer the phone, which is ringing once again. A mid shot shows the blonde woman answering the phone and walking around the side of the kitchen back to the popcorn, she is becoming wary of the stranger who is calling again. The stranger on the phone tells her 'tell me your name and i'll tell you mine' to which she replies 'i dont think so'. The stranger asks the blonde woman 'whats that noise' to which she replies 'popcorn' the stranger then says that he only eats popcorn when watching a film, the blonde says that she is just about to watch a film and the stranger asks what kind of film, she replies 'oh just some scary movie'. The next shot shows the popcorn getting blown up by the heat off the cooker, it gets bigger and bigger. The next shot follows the blonde s she is deep in conversation with the stranger on the telephone talking about scary movies like 'nightmare on elm street' as she locks the doors around the house. The stranger asks the blonde if she has a boyfiend, she replies 'no'. He asks her her name once more, she asks 'why do you want to know my name?' he replies 'because i want to know who im looking at.' A mid shot shows te woman looking petrified as tense non diegetic music is heard, showing the viewer her fear. The blonde then turns the outside lights on and looks through the french doors of her house. A pan shot shows her looking around the vast garden, moving from the swimming pool to the other cornor of the garden. She tells the stranger she has to go before locking the door infront of her. A close up shot shows the popcorn, looking as if it is ready tto explode. The phone rings again, she answers th stranger says 'i told you not to hang up' . The blonde starts to get destressed. Research for audience:

Thriller

Classification: 15

The classification would have to be 15, because of the content of the film is too adult for anyone younger than 15 years of age. It will contain topics such as stalking and attempted murder which may upset children of a younger generation, also, there will be mild language and scences which some younger viewers may find scary like the dead cat. We feel that teens 15 and over would be able to cope with this, and because of the 15 classification the older generation of people will also watch the film because they know by the citification and classification that it isn't  childrens film and therefore it will bemore suited to them and the type of film they wish to watch and find entertaining.

Neche Audience: Both genders, female and male. Neche audience late teens 17- 25 years old. Thriller film that i think theese people would enjoy. The storyline would appeal to both genders, it will appeal to females because the main charcter is female, the male viewers will watch because it is a thriller and contains exciting topics such as stalking and thrilling scenes which will have them on an edge without been too gruesome and gory. We are hoping that the film will go against the stereotypical thriller aimed at middle aged men because of the storyline, and hopefully the younger generation of viewers will view the film and enjoy it.

Individual analysis

Number 6) analyse the first 10 - 15 minutes of a film similar to the genre of your film idea proposed in your group.

Use IMBd for information background on the film.
Halloween 6 star rating from 2007
story line to the film:
The residents of Haddonfield don't know it yet... but death is coming to their small sleepy town. Sixteen years ago, a ten year old boy called Michael Myers brutally kills his step father, his elder sister and her boyfriend. Sixteen years later, he escapes from the mental institution and makes his way back to his hometown intent on a murderous rampage pursued by Dr Sam Loomis who is Michael's doctor and the only one who knows Michael's true evil. Elsewhere a shy teenager by the name of Laurie Strode is babysitting on the night Michael comes home... is it pure coincidence that she and her friends are being stalked by him?

this is a similar story line to my own as deatis entailed in a small village, with a family living in a new house. The stalker is different as in my storyline the events are the stalker and within this on there is an actual stalker, which makes the turn of events more exciting, but also more horrifing.

The movie Halloween creates a thrilling, yet horrific terminol of events as a phycopath lkiller is born within a young boy to kill the rest of his family until there is nothing left, once this is complete the fact that their is a part of all of us as human beings that their is a dark side and betryal in all of us suggests that this could happen to anyone of us leaving us realing with the turn of events that this could be one of our own family members or friends which may turn to the dark side with in them after a tramatic deal, this could be a horrific car crash which will entail the turn of events in the story line which i came up with for a film idea.

Elizabeth was suppose to be going on the trip with her father and her stepmother Karen, but Elizabeth refused as herself and Karen do not see eye to eye. Elizabeth's mother was murdered when she was 13 years old and Elizabeth feels her fathers new relationship means that he does not love her mum any more and she feels that her father has no time for her, therefore she has distanced herself from him. Elizabeth has had a gut feeling for a few months that she has been watched, but due to her relationship status with her father and stepmother, she hasn't confined in anyone but her best friend Katie, who doesn't see it as been a problem and has said that maybe Elizabeth's just been paranoid.
Throughout her week alone Elizabeth's gut feeling has become worse and worse, she has noticed strange things happening around her house, and cannot help but feel that there is a strange presence where ever she goes, including her journey to and from college. She doesn't want to alarm her father and Karen so she doesn't tell them about the strange goings on. Elizabeth notices that strange things are happening, her cat hasn't been home since her father and Karen has left, she found the french doors of her house wide open and she was woken up on numerous occasions throughout the week by screaming noises in the street and the flash light of a torch shining into her bedroom window. Which when she investigated, by looking out of the window had suddenly disappeared. Elizabeth put it down to a 'bad dream' and convinced herself that it is her mind playing tricks with her.
The truth is, it isn't Elizabeth's mind playing tricks, she is in fact been stalked by the man who murdered her mother. On the night when her father and Karen are expected home, Elizabeth rushes down stairs when she hears the door slam shut, she runs down happily, realising how unpleasant she has been and wanting to greet her father and step mum. When she walks into the front room she see's a hooded figure sat on the sofa with a knife and a cut out of a newspaper article of her mums death. She realises he is the one who murdered her mum, she panics and screams, running to the stairs. He chases her up the stairs and  she runs into the bedroom, locking the door behind her. The murder starts to kick at the door and he starts to smash it in, breaking the wood of the door. Elizabeth goes over to the window to shout for help, when she see's her father and Karen reversing the car up the drive. She knows that they are at harm, so she chooses to not draw attention to them so that they get hurt. They come through the door, and the murder stops kicking at the door. She hears silence. He goes down stairs. After a few seconds she starts to panic, she knows that something needs to be done or her father, karen and herself will be murdered like her mother was. She hears screams in the front room. She runs down the stairs and runs round the outside of her house going through the kitchen door. She rings the police. She hears Karen scream, and in a blind panic picks up a bread knife from the kitchen draw. She tiptoes into the front room, where her father is laid unconscience and Karen is  begging and crying whilst the murder man is waving a knife in her face. Elizabeth stabs the murder with the bread knife. The police arrive, and Elizabeth, Karen and her father are all sat in the back of an ambulance reunited and lucky to be alive.
